This is an amazing dehumidifier. I have an old house so during rainy days and humid summer days my basement gets super moist. This dehumidifier easily takes care of my basement and essentially makes it bone dry. The size is great for the quality of the build and super easy to plug in and use. I would buy this asap if you need a dehumidifier that will get rid of a bunch of moisture

Well built unit at this price point with inbuilt water pump

I just unboxed it and did a test run in my basement lounge. So far, the unit seems effective. I originally bought it for my crawl space. It’s well built, and the functions and features are as expected. The best feature for me is the built-in water pump, which makes it ideal for pumping water collected by the unit outside the crawl space. There aren’t many reviews, but to my surprise, the unit does not disappoint. I hope it lasts a long time. I would like the manufacturer to extend the warranty to include return shipping for at least one year. Update : water pump shut down if you turn and turn back on unit. Make sure after power cut you manually validate the pump is one. I wish it has memory like other setting . Which machine retain. Next I have to test it in crawl space

Quiet and powerful

Our basement has always been a bit damp, especially during the rainy summer months when the humidity gets really high. I chose this dehumidifier mainly because it has a built-in pump that automatically drains the water, no need to empty a tank every day. After setting it up and connecting the drain hose, I pretty much haven’t had to touch it. The machine runs steadily and reliably. After using it for a while, I noticed a big difference. The basement feels much drier, and the corners that used to get moldy are much better now. It’s also surprisingly quiet and doesn’t disturb upstairs. I like that it has an auto defrost function too, so I don’t have to worry about it freezing in winter. Overall, it’s a very low-maintenance, high-performance unit, perfect for someone like me who wants results without the hassle.

Works, but improvements would help.

So far, it is working as advertised. It is fairly quiet and it removes moisture out at a reasonable rate. However, there are a few things that would significantly improve the product. (I may have confused this model with some others this vendor offers. This one was on the pedestal as their best, so I selected it. )
1) This one does not have a pump for water outflow. With the connection about 1" off the ground, that means it either has to have a floor drain near by, or it has to sit on a platform. It is advertised for crawl spaces. Don't know how it would work if the crawl space lacked a floor drain.
2) The connection is for a plastic tube. A standard hose connection would be so much better and easier to use. Maybe because it requires a near by floor drain?
3) All of the other units I have had, show the current setting and humidity levels at a minimum. This one I have to push a button for the display to turn on. I get the small energy savings that might yield, but at a minimum, it should be an option.
4) The user interface should be redesigned.

Giant upgrade!

Such a giant upgrade from my old mini one! Turned basement into a small home gym and had pretty damp air and with my old mini dehumidifier, it was a pain to dump the water every day and once you forget to do so, you will have to work out in humid air. I decided to take a huge step to upgrade and leave everything hands free and worry free. With this new big machine, everything is just amazing! It is huge! Especially when you compare it with the old one! Build quality is phenomenal and metal always gives you more confidence. Running noise is more than acceptable. I have a 1300 sqft basement and it’s very efficient to keep it dry! Draining is automatic now and I do not have to dump the water every day! Now once I step into the basement, the air feels so good and to my surprise, after several days, the spider webs and insects are getting less, which I never thought about.

Great tech support

I had to return first one for it didn’t run however Amazon immediately sent me a new one. The second one brought humidity down some, but not enough. So I called Tech Support and woman told me the crawlspace needed to be encapsulated so I got from Amazon 1 1/2” & 2” polyurethane Pieces that were firm but pliable and cut just larger than vents and stuffed into holes. My ground plastic was missing in some places so I added that. The tech also said to get a second humidity gauge which I already had in the crawlspace and said it should read around 10% less than unit. Mine varies 10° to 11°less and she said set it near my dehumidifier and said set my dehumidifier around 55%. I set mine at 56%. It took a few weeks, but humidity went from 92% to 44% on my separate gauge & 56° on my dehumidifier. So great Tech support and fast replacement. It’s sitting in the very center of crawlspace doing a great job.

Crawl space was very humid causing mold to form. I was looking for something heavy duty so I ended up buying this. So far, it has been working non-stop for a week and doing a great job. Crawlspace went from high 80s to now the set point of 45F. It’s extremely quiet and don’t even know it’s on unless very close to it. Easy to install and set up. So far, I am pleased.

Excellent dehumidifier! Easy Set up!

Purchased this dehumidifier for our finished basement and was amazed at how quickly it removed moisture! Quiet and easy to move. Set up is incredibly easy. Comes with 2 drain hoses for 2 different drain options- gravity drainage connecting to a floor drain or built in pump allowing water to be directed up to 19.6 ft. It has four buttons for easy operation. Humidity setting, continuous mode, GPP mode and auto on/off. Covers 1500 sq ft. Great value for a commercial dehumidifier, I would definitely buy this unit again!

Impressed that the manufacture saw I tried to call and then called me back the next day.Original review- The unit leaks from the bottom. Installed perfectly level as instructed. Powerful! Finally a dehumidifier that actually does what it says

Powerful! Best dehumidifier I ever had, by a mile. Within a couple days, my 650 sq ft basement reached my goal of 50-55% humidity. Before this dehumidifier, it was 75%. I tried other residential dehumidifiers, which totally didn’t work. This one is great. Well worth the money if you have serious humidity issues in a large open space.Seller (Argendon) had excellent customer service. I contacted them when the Merv filter for the dehumidifier arrived dented. They resolved the issue quickly. CONS:It’s doesn’t tell you the humidity level in the air. I bought a hygrometer for less than $10. Honestly, you can feel the difference in the air but I like to keep track. Not eligible for the ENERGY STAR REBATE = My electric company denied my rebate, saying this model (Shield 35M) isn’t listed on the Energy Star government website “Product Finder”. Sadly, I confirmed that is true. Not sure why it says energy-star certified in the ad.P If applying for an energy star rebate is important to you, consider the Argendon 35P model instead.

I'm not an expert, and I'm not using this professionally, so I'm probably an outlier here.As regular a homeowner that just got tired of expensive garbage plastic dehumidifiers from the big box store, this is a durable heavy duty replacement.Just taking this out of the box you can tell it is more of a heavy duty unit than the competitors. I'm guessing it's intended more for contractors? But, it works great for us. After years of fighting with gravity drains that decide to fill the bucket instead of the hose, filter clogged messages & flaky units that just don't turn on when the humidity gets high, this just works.It isn't as sleek & pretty looking as the plastic ones. I just want something that works, and this does. It's only been a little while, but my wife pointed out the musty smell is already gone in our basement. I'll update or change this if I have any problems. For now, I'm loving it! Spend a little more money now, you'll be happier in the end.The control is not intuitive, but reading the instructions made it easy to understand & use. Noise is less than the units it replaced. I'm tracking energy usage, with a smart plug, and it's lower than the energy star model it replaced.

Great-so far.

I’m giving this unit four stars right now because it’s too early to give it five. It does a great job drying out my damp basement, but I’ve had plenty of dehumidifiers that have done that. I’m hoping that this one will actually last more than a year or two.
