Argendon Celebrates Earth Day with a Special Sale
Jay BualSince its conception in 1970, the Earth Day movement promotes the importance of every single person’s effort in protecting the planet and preserving its resources for our survival.
Every year on April 22nd, the organization encourages millions around the world to promote environmental awareness and take active part in campaigns for sustainability, conservation, and preservation. It is in this spirit that Argendon proudly launches our Earth Day Sale. This is an opportunity to buy an ENERGY STAR-certified, LGR dehumidifier that aligns with Earth Day’s goals of global sustainability and reduced ecological footprint.

ENERGY STAR: A Seal of Efficiency
The ENERGY STAR label is an internationally recognized stamp that informs consumers that an appliance or piece of equipment meets the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE)’s standards for energy efficiency. Products with this label will have undergone and passed the required tests verifying they can operate at full capacity using less energy than dehumidifiers without the ENERGY STAR seal.
Low energy consumption means less electricity usage, lower carbon emissions, and reduced utility costs – all benefiting you, the consumer.
"Our Power, Our Planet”
The Earth Day organization, environmental groups, and volunteers around the world organize activities and campaigns that align with the year’s theme. This year, the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” focuses on the global campaign for renewable energy. One of the organization’s long-term goals is to triple clean electricity generation worldwide by 2030.
How can you do your part to achieve this goal? By making informed choices and making the environment a priority whenever possible. This means choosing products and services that are energy efficient and within the lower threshold of carbon emissions.
Choosing Argendon’s ENERGY STAR-certified dehumidifiers is a step in this direction. In light of the persisting air pollution and warming climate’s impact on temperature and humidity, a dehumidifier is increasingly becoming a necessity for households and businesses.
How Green Are Argendon Dehumidifiers?
Argendon satisfies the energy-efficiency criterion in two ways:
ENERGY STAR Certification
The ENERGY STAR certification on Arendon's dehumidifiers is well-earned.
Our dehumidifiers are manufactured with the latest innovations and technology with sustainability in mind. We are especially proud that we were able to incorporate these features into our dehumidifiers and maintain affordable price points. Additionally, as each Argendon dehumidifier requires minimal energy to operate at full capacity, our customers are able to conserve electricity and keep utility costs low.

Dehumidification with R-32 Refrigerant
Argendon utilizes R-32 refrigerant1, which is one of the most energy efficient refrigerants for air conditioning, heat transfer, and dehumidification purposes.
R-32 has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) score of 0, just like the more widely used R-410A2. But unlike the latter, R-32 has a global warming potential (GWP) of 675, which is only roughly 6% of R-410A's GWP.
Other refrigerant types used in air quality control appliances are R-11, R-12, R-22, and R-134A.
R-11 and R-12 are CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) refrigerants which, unfortunately, contain ozone-depleting chlorine. The R-32 and R410A are HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) refrigerants and are less harmful to the ozone layer. R-22 is also an HFC, however, it's been phased out since 2010 because it was classified as a Class II Ozone-Depleting Substance by the EPA3.

In Preserving the Planet, Every Small Effort Counts
Celebrating Earth Day is not just a one-day commitment to saving the environment, but a lifetime pledge to help the cause.
This day is proof that individual acts may be small, but if more people do their part—even if only for a day—the collective impact of everyone’s actions can be massive and meaningful.
